Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12
At Westminster, the youth mission and ministry is a vital and growing part of church life. We hope to equip students with the ability to live out their Christian faith in a complex world, to build relationships and communities and to offer service and aid to world in need. Youth Ministry at Westminster is to the young people, by the young people, and for us all.

“Dialog Diner” – Each Sunday morning SH's and advisors meets from 9:30-10:50AM in the Energy Room for fellowship, sharing and discussion. A different family provides the ingredients for breakfast, such as eggs, bacon, pancakes, French toast, fruit salad, milk and juice. SH’s cook, eat and clean-up together, then attend church.
On Sundays, Senior Highs (SH’s; 9th thro 12th graders) usual attend the full service. SH’s are also encouraged to get involved in the church in all ways. Some serve as deacons, as liturgists, as members of the handbell choir, as members of other committees such as Racial Justice or Green Committees, and as ENERGY tutors.
SH's, along with the staff Youth Coordinator and volunteer advisors, get together on a regular basis for a variety of activities that are both fun and formative:
Sunday Outings – Events vary but at the core of every outing is a balance of mission-oriented and fun activities. Events are generally Sunday evenings from 5:30-7:30PM, but also, occasionally on Sunday afternoons or on Saturdays. The schedule is available in the church newsletter and bulletin as well as via weekly emails, and most SH's are connected to the Youth Coordinator through Facebook. Watch The coordinators page for discussions and updates.
Past Events include:
• Lasertron, ice skating, bowling, hikes, game nights, Lock-ins, movie nights
• Serving at local soup kitchens
• Raising money for Literacy Volunteers with a Scrabblefest or making scarves for local refugees
• Helping with fall/spring food drives
• Working with Riverkeeper Spring Clean-up
Annual Mission Trip to Maine – Each summer, the SH’s travel to Hartford, Maine where they work on projects like siding and painting a house, rebuilding a handicapped ramp, painting a church and “chucking” firewood to stock a local “firewood bank” to serve the poor and elderly through the Maine winter. SH’s also get to enjoy some New England highlights - lobster, a trip to the beach and Freeport. To finance this mission trip, SH’s raise money throughout the year:
Apple Pie Sale: SH’s bake and sell more than 150 pies each November just in time for Thanksgiving. Proceeds are sent directly to Maine to buy project supplies for the following summer.
Maine “Shares”: SH’s invite congregation members to become “shareholders” in their trip. Members who purchase “shares” receive a handwritten postcard update from our trip in Maine.
Allentown Art Festival Parking: Our church is located just a block away from one of the region’s biggest outdoor art festivals. During the festival each June, SH’s sell parking in our church lot to festival-goers to raise additional funds for the trip.
